{The screen comes up and we find Reno Dumont, the Head Bastard of the Rogue Horsemen, sitting in rather comfy looking chair with a pair of wire framed sunglasses on his face and dressed rather casually while Caine is dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a white tank top, with Reno’s fingers steepled in front of him stands off to the side}
Reno: So a lot of people have said that my Bastards’ en mass debut at Revolution was a failure because out of three matches they only won one of them leading into this weekend’s pay per view and then they look at me with such scorn and pity in their faces which quickly turn to shock as have a good and hearty laugh at their own expense!
But who said that my Bastard of Evil actually failed in what they were supposed to do? Are any of you people who said that they went out and failed fully knowledgeable in what the plan truly was? Are you all a bunch of freaking clueless mind readers who can’t read anything more complex than a story from the misadventures of Captain Underpants?
{Reno simply shakes his head at that}
Reno: No, what you all seem to forget is that any general worth his salt knows that the key to any and all success is information. You don’t just go charging into a battle without proper information or at least knowing your enemy and that’s what happened at Revolution…but Caine, Caine here went one step beyond and actually won himself a shot at bringing the first bit of ECWF gold home to the Bastards at World War Four, if not two if he wins the men’s rumble match for the world title.
Caine: And while some people may think that all my attention is dedicated solely to the men’s rumble match, Danny Boy, but I can promise you that all of my attention is focused on you and our match at the big show and only our match.
Sure, I could go into the rumble and win the big one sure enough…but something about this match with you might prove to be something that I’ve been missing in my career as of late which is a proper opponent, the right kind of man or woman to make a match memorable here in this company may second event in, something that I can look back on with a smile on my face and make me want to tear you down in the ring time and time again.
{A faint grin then crosses Caine’s face}
Caine: I mean hells, anything is possible…I know my match at Revolution wasn’t that kind of match because it was over much too quickly for my liking because just like my infamous father, I enjoy the burning ache that runs through my muscles after a good, hard fought match…it’s something that I haven’t had in a very long time because the last few matches that I had before my sabbatical were over much too quickly and they were usually up against people who just loved to thump their chests and say that they were the new dark of professional wrestling or some kind of bullshit like that when in the end, they couldn’t even hit the five minute mark with against a second generation talent like myself.
A talent that was first draft choice for Reno’s version of the Rogue Horsemen. A stable with a very fine and rich history in professional wrestling, a history that has been long since intertwined with my own family’s because my uncles have all been Rogues…my very parents have been Rogues…and so forth and on.
{The smile then disappears from Caine’s face and is replaced with a look of sheer determination}
Caine: But I’m not here to honor my family’s legacy or anything like that. Tonight, I’m here to do what I do best and that’s wrestle and claim championships along the way,
Pure and simple, Dan.
But honestly, can you say the same however?
Can you look me in the eyes during the lead into our match and honestly say that you’re in this because you enjoy this…that you live and breathe professional wrestling on the level that I do? That you enjoy the thrill of the hunt and that your passion for battle is greater than my own?
I honestly you like to see you try and claim that because from everything that I’ve seen of you from studying your past “work”...and yes, I’m being very generous when I call it *that*....is that you’re just in it to make a paymaster give you the winner’s share of the prize purse and that you’re just another spot monkey that couldn’t make it in garbage promotions like New Frontier Wrestling or Elite Answers Wrestling.
And at the pay per view, I’m going to prove this without a doubt after I send you personally to Planet Terror and you get to enjoy that simply deep and dark descent from the heights of your own personal glory down into the infernal twisting pits of obscurity.
And once you're long and faded gone, I’m going to take that championship..and I’m going to make it grand again. I’m going to make it the new workhorse belt because I see nothing but potential in it.
You only saw a quick check to cash.
I see nothing but the gloriously gory battles to come with that championship cinched around my oh so sexy waist!!!
You…you merely saw nothing more than a gold and leather McDonald’s Happy Meal prize.
And who knows, maybe you just might get lucky enough to beat me in our match and keep me from being rightfully going to be mine in the end…that might just happen.
But Dan, the only way that will happen for you is if you can manage to hit that one move on me that’ll put me down for good….and to be honest, I honestly don’t see that happening.
Not because of some kind of massive ego or infallible arrogance on my part mind you.
But because in the end, everybody pays the toll…and it’s your turn.
See you at the big show, kid.
{The screen then fades to black}

Post by The Age of Fall on Jan 29, 2023 18:56:05 GMT -6
The scene opens up in a somewhat darkish room, a single light shining down in the middle of the room. A few seconds later, Dan Anderson comes into view, wearing a suit and the Nex*Gen Championship over his shoulder. He is accompanied by his bodyguard, Gage Atlas, who stands behind him, a blank expression on his face. Dan grins as he turns to face the camera, beginning to speak.
Dan Anderson Hello ladies and gentlemen. This is the reigning, defending Nex*Gen Champion, Dan Anderson!
Dan laughs, patting the Nex*Gen Championship that's draped over his shoulder.
Dan Anderson I gotta say..there's no better way to begin the new year then by humbling a couple of hot shots. Hot shots who thought they was the best thing since sliced bread. The Age of Fall proved to the whole world that they're not when we beat them on the previous Revolution. Securing ourselves a shot at the Trios Championships in the process. The loss might sting for the trio with a ridiculously long name. Since they arrived in ECWF, they've been calling their shots, poking at the Outsiders, hoping to provoke them enough so they would put their Championships on the line against them. Their tactic didn't produce the desired result and when it came time to actually earn their shot, they failed. The hot shots talked a big game but just couldn't back it up, succumbing to the might and the teamwork of the Age of Fall. They brought shame and dishonor to their trainer's name. Their trainer must be very disappointed by their failure. Their trainer might be having second thoughts of taking time out of his schedule to train them. With the rookies in the rear view mirror, it's time for the Age of Fall to focus on bigger and better things. Namely, making War World Four a night to remember and potentially snatch up some more gold for the Age of Fall.
Dan makes a Championship motion around his waist.
Dan Anderson Before I talk about War World Four, I want to briefly touch on the Trios Championships. The Age of Fall has history with the Trios Championships. Almost every member of the Age of Fall that signed with ECWF during our run here so far has won the Trios Championships. For some, it was the first Championship they won. The Trios Championships will forever be linked with the Age of Fall. To be honest, I wouldn't mind winning the Trios Championships one more time with the boys, Jay and Ken. The three of us, the OG trio of the Age of Fall. Winning the Trios Championships with them again would be a throwback to when we first signed with the ECWF. Ah, the memories. As much as I want to relive the past one more time, I have to focus on the here and now. That being holding onto the Nex*Gen Championship for as long as possible and potentially going on to regain the Worldheavyweight Championship in the WarTime Rumble. If I manage to become the Worldheavyweight Championship for a second time then I'll giving my spot in the Trios Championships match later down the line to Desmond Edwards. Unless he somehow earns a shot at the Horror-Core Championship then I'll just bring in a new member and have them take my spot in our eventual Trios Championships match. *He laughs* Jokes aside, the Age of Fall will be watching the Trios Championships match very closely and whoever walks away as the Champions better watch out. The Age of Fall will be coming to reclaim them once again.
Dan pauses for a few seconds to adjust the Nex*Gen Championship before he resumes speaking.
Dan Anderson World War Four will be quite the eventful night for the Age of Fall. Roxanne has the opportunity to make her dreams become a reality when she faces Crystal Zdunich for the Women's World Championship. I have no doubt Roxy will end the reign of a Champion who just shows up whenever she wants. She's got this. I believe in her. Then either me, Jay, or Desmond will have a chance to become the Worldheavyweight Champion. All we have the do is outlast the others in the WarTime Rumble then one of us is leaving the FTX Arena as the new Worldheavyweight Champion. However, I must first defend my Nex*Gen Championship before taking part in the WarTime Rumble later in the night. Who am I defending the Nex*Gen Championship against? Against someone who recently signed with ECWF. Someone who just made their debut on the previous Revolution and secured themselves a shot at my Championship. His name is Caine Marik. A member of the Rogue Horsemen. Speaking of the Rogue Horsemen, one of their members lost their debut against the newest member of the Age of Fall, Desmond Edwards. Who also made his debut on the previous Revolution. Robert Armstrong, wasn't it? The one Desmond calls a little...well, you know. Let me ask you something. How does it feel to hand your team their first loss? Probably not so good, huh? Perhaps next time, don't go making assumptions and go on this rant about silence and whatever nonsense you were spewing. Then again, you will probably just do the same shtick that will get tiring very quickly. To that I say...shut the hell up. Nobody cares. Get over it. Nobody wants to hear some tough guy whining and crying about this or that. All that whining and crying makes you look less tough, almost to the point where others view you as a mere child.
A slight smirk appears on Dan's face.
Dan Anderson Your teammate, Caine Marik, will try to avenge your loss and attempt to pry the Nex*Gen Championship from my hands. Sorry bub. It's not going to happen. I have a iron grip on the Nex*Gen Championship and I'm never letting it go. I'm going to hold onto this Championship for as long as I want. I will make the Championship prestigious. Meaningful. Relevant. Even more than the Worldheavyweight Championship. I will make the Nex*Gen Championship the main Championship that everyone wants to go after. I will surpass the record of the longest reigning Nex*Gen Championship and become the greatest Nex*Gen Championship in ECWF history. You, Caine will be the one of many who will fail in their attempt to take the Nex*Gen Championship. You will be a footnote in the history and the legacy of Dan Anderson, the eventual greatest Nex*Gen Championship of all time. I'm sure you said your piece by now and I'm sure it was probably good. Great even. However, in the end, it doesn't even matter. Talk is cheap. Let our actions speak for themselves. I do wonder if you'll be able to back up everything you said. We'll see about that. Nonetheless, Judgment Day is upon you. Your fate has been sealed. Your demise is inevitable. Remember this day, Caine. The day you where your arms were too short to box with God. The day where you met your downfall at the hands of the reigning, defending Nex*Gen Champion. Dan Anderson. Believe that.
The smirk on Dan's face widens as him and Gage make their exit, the scene fading away once they are out of sight, the only thing seen is the light shining down in the room.
