Scene 1
The scene opens in the backstage area of the ECWF Arena where Jay is seen standing in front of the Age of Fall's locker room. He nods at the camera man to start recording, beginning to speak.
Jay Reynolds Here we are, in the new year. 2024. What do people usually say at the beginning of the new year? New year, new me. People who say that reflect back on the previous year and look to make some changes in the new year. People who say that have a goal in mind that they want to achieve. I could go on and on the various reasons but I'll be here all night. *He laughs* The point is, in the new year, there is one thing I want to do...win some Championship gold!
Jay briefly laughs before he resumes speaking.
Jay Reynolds It's been a while since I had gold around my waist and I kind of miss having a Championship in my possession. I could of ended the year as the EHWF Showtime Champion and came into 2024 with the chance at becoming a Double Champion but I came up short in my attempt at winning the Showtime Championship. I could of been bummed about the loss but I didn't want the loss to weigh me down as I still have the opportunity to start the 2024 off with a bang! By becoming the new Horror-Core Champion!
Jay makes a Championship motion around his waist.
Jay Reynolds Before I talk about my upcoming Championship match, I want to look back on the previous year. Throughout 2023, I mainly stayed in the shadows, biding my time. Waiting for my moment. Sure, most people would get impatient, let the anger of having to wait consume them, and start lashing, leading them to do something they might regret. Not me. I'm a very patient man. I knew it was only a matter of time before I get my chance to step up to the plate and swing for the fences. I'm sure there would be many people who try to persuade me to break away from the Age of Fall. To inflate my ego by saying I could be bigger than the Age of Fall. They would say that the Age of Fall are holding me back. They'll say all these things, hoping to drive a wedge between us, hoping to see the Age of Fall crumble. Well...it hasn't worked before and it's not going to work now so save your breath. I have heard all of these things before but I chose to ignore them. I did not let their words get to my head. No matter how hard they try, they will never break apart the Age of Fall. I am loyal to the Age of Fall. I am loyal to Dan. He is my best friend and I will never stab him in the back. I know he will never stab me in the back. We will forever be linked together until we decide to hang up our boots so get used to seeing us together. Dan has given me the opportunity to live out my dream. For me to turn my back on him and toss our friendship away, letting everything he has done for me go to waste, just because of some opinions from others, is stupid. Me and Dan. We are brochachos for life.
Jay grins, doing the 4 life hand signs, then resumes speaking.
Jay Reynolds Now then, let's talk about my upcoming match that's for the Horror-Core Championship. The Horror-Core Championship, one of the few Championships I'm missing to complete the Grand Slam. A Championship held by the legendary Scotty Paine. A Championship that will always be linked to the veteran. A Championship that I know he will forever pursuit in ECWF. I knew the risk of going after the Horror-Core Championship. I knew that if I somehow beat him, he would just come after the Championship until it's back in his hands. It makes you wonder why he's so obsessed with the Horror-Core Championship when someone of his caliber could easily hang in the World Championship picture. Maybe take a dip into the National Championship picture for a quick swim. Hell, even form a team and try his hand at the Trios Division. I get that he's the kind of guy who thrives in the Horror-Core environment but at some point, you have to step aside and give everyone else a try in that environment. I remember when he lost the Horror-Core Championship the first time. To some bald headed goof who may or may not be related to someone who still needs to get his ass kicked by me. Scotty then went on the win the Gold Rush briefcase and I'm sure many people assumed he would shift his attention towards other Championships. While I'm uncertain on the status of his Gold Rush briefcase but, he focused back on the Horror-Core Championship, winning it a second time by defeating JJ Burgess. Someone who seemed to have a few issues. Especially with those who have allies. I guess she was just jealous that she didn't have any friends.
The grin on Jay's face is replaced with a smirk.
Jay Reynolds It seemed certain that Scotty would have a death grip over the Horror-Core Championship and would probably mow through the whole roster until there's no one left to challenge him. However, it's time for someone to be end his reign. It's time for change. It's time for a new era. It's time for someone new to be at the helm and to carry the Horror-Core Division on their back. That someone...is going to be me. *He points at himself* I will be the catalyst for change. I will be the one to take the Horror-Core Championship from his grasp and end his reign. I will represent and carry the Horror-Core Division on my back. I know it will not be a easy task but I'm up for the challenge. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to walk out of Revolution as the new Horror-Core Champion. Sorry Scotty but I'm starting this year off on the right foot and it'll be at your expense. Nothing personal. It's strictly business. I understand if you decide to come after the Horror-Core Championship after I beat you. However, I think you should step aside, to let others step into the Horror-Core Division and try their hand. Besides, you have the ECWF Championship Tournament to worry about so you should focus all your attention on that. Don't worry, the Horror-Core Championship will be in good hands and I will be the very best Horror-Core Champion this company has ever had. I might even surpass you, Scotty. Heh. I want you to remember the night where you suffered defeat at the hands of Jay Reynolds. The next Horror-Core Champion, Bay Bay.
Jay smirks as he turns and goes into the locker room to start preparing for his match later on in the night. Once he's out of sight, the scene slowly fades to black.
Scene 2
The scene opens in the locker room of the Age of Fall where Jay Reynolds, dressed in his ring gear, is warming up for his match later on in the main event. A few seconds later, the door to the locker room opens and Dan Anderson along with Roxanne enter the room, dressed in their ring gear as well. Roxanne has her World Tag Team Championship over her shoulder while Dan has both his Nex*Gen and World Tag Team Championships over his shoulders.
Dan Anderson How's it going, brochacho?
Dan and Jay laughs as they do a bro handshake.
Jay Reynolds I'm feeling pumped for my Championship match. It's not everyday I get to face someone like Scotty Paine. Especially for a Championship that he has a death grip on. But, I'm up for the task that lies ahead of me. Tonight, his reign is coming to an end...at my hands!
Jay is feeling fired up for his match.
Dan Anderson Scotty may of thought his reign as Horror-Core Champion would be safe and he could coast on by with little effort, clutching the Championship close to himself. Nah nah! I beaten him before and now, it's your turn to beat him. I have no doubt that by the end of the night, you'll be the new Horror-Core Champion!
Jay Reynolds Hell yeah, I am! You are looking at your new Horror-Core Champion! ECWF will have some Champions they can be proud of. I shall elevate the Horror-Core Championship to new heights! The rise of Jay Reynolds starts tonight and unfortunately for Scotty, it will be at his expense.
Dan Anderson Indeed, it does. You have patiently waited for this moment and now, it's your time to shine! Remind the whole world who Jay Reynolds is. Remind everyone that you're the "Next Big Hit"! Show the world why you'll deserving of being the Horror-Core Champion!
Jay Reynolds Scotty will not know what hit him. The moment is within my grasp. It's time for me to go out there and seize it, by any means necessary.
The three would grin, as if they're plotting something. Or perhaps, they already have plan in mind.
Roxanne Well, we better get going. We got some cursed Championships to defend. I just hope those chumps know what the future holds for them if they become the World Tag Team Champions. Such a sad fate but they brought upon themselves for answering the challenge. I'm not worried about the outcome as I'll be watching Women's World Championship match very closely and will soon make my presence felt.
Dan Anderson Roxy is right. We're not sweating the match. Besides, Lucian and Adrian will also be out there, to make things harder for the other teams. Anyways, you got this, brochacho. We believe in you. Show Scotty who's boss and take the Horror-Core Championship from his hands.
Jay Reynolds Heh. I will. Thanks, brochacho. I'll see you all later.
Dan and Roxanne nods, fist bumping Jay then the two exit the room, meeting up with Lucian and Adrian to go over the game plan for their match. Jay sees his phone has went off and goes to check it. He sees that he got a text from his girlfriend, Skylar Clark. The text says, "Good luck, babe. I believe in you." Jay smiles, setting the phone to the side then resumes warming up for his huge opportunity in the main event, the scene slowly fading to black a few seconds later.
