I have been in ECWF for a year since the 14th, I keep getting these championship opportunities yet I have not won. Everything has balance, it keeps you humble for sure but boy howdy does it ruffle my feathers, keeps the fire under my ass all that stereotypical shit we say as ambitious assholes. That is what I am, I’m an ambitious ass-hole which as much as people tell you is positive, pisses a lot of folks off.
The constant in life is criticism, when you move to the beat of your own drum like myself you deal with criticism. It can have a huge effect. My parents are both physicists raised by super strict parents, it made my father meek, my mother a bad-ass. I was just always in trouble because I do what I want, or try too.
Finishing my school work quickly because I'm “ gifted” , I thought I was quiet and polite when talking to my buddy about wrestling, he wasn’t bothered, he was a good student too.
Spanish class, the teacher saying “ ¡Silencio!” from calmer to sterner and my voice just getting higher and higher with “ “lo siento”. I go home,do my homework, work on my model rocket, do whatever sport at the time , Taekwondo and amateur wrestling or in my backyard wrestling era, practice those things with my younger twin brothers.
Apparently people don’t like if you sell weed to college students, I’m joking. I know that’s bad, I was 11, I became a college student and professor’s assistant, it was endearing. They’re all strung out with their study drugs. I'm like this from my parent’s friend Celosia, she looks like the mom Didi from Rugrats, it’s cool.
I did not live at the university as I was a paperboy in my neighborhood, riding on my Marvin the Martian skateboard , jamming out to Van Halen on my walkman as I do tricks I just read about in Thrasher. Rollin’ in just in time.
The professor just with his palm on his forehead “ again with the skateboard in the classroom, Ace?” I’m just responding with the higher pitch “sorry” each time.
Then you walk up at 41 in your bed 30 years later, like shit, I’m gonna get my ass kicked 5 days this week again. My back just popping like a bag of microwave popcorn. My right foot and ankle are hurting, not even a wrestling thing. Mini Motorbike gift on my 29th birthday, accident right away that day, broken in several places
I am obsessed with wrestling still, I am addicted therefore I can manage to get up, keep on moving and grooving.
I have to get to the arena to film my promo, I do my post meditation type, sitting on the equipment box in lotus position. The tech crew loves me because unlike most I actually talk to them, not treat them like NPCs.
Ace Sky:
Daron Smith, we have something in common, although quite older now we still want that spotlight, still are at the elite level in our minds and we are here proving it. I am coming off so many losses, close but no cigar. I spent my first couple years in the Midwest, I have a fanbase there and boy is that championship calling my name, pulling me towards it.
I don’t assume anything I must just remind you I am on the same level with you as a pure wrestler, I can go hold for hold, I have the tightest unique pons and plethora of submissions.
I’m just usually kicking heads off and soaring.
I am going to give you everything I’ve got, because I have got not just two but three eyes( points to forehead) open.

The scene fades in as #1 Daron Smythe stands in a conference room, remote control in hand, in front of a large screen TV…
DARON: This Monday night, I have a match that determines the #1 Contender to the Midwest Heavyweight Championship. My opponent? A man who has managed to blend the best of American high flying, lucha libre, and puroresu. A man who is in phenomenal shape. A man I have crossed paths with in other promotions in the past. He may be the most gifted high flyer the professional wrestling business has seen in the past twenty years…
…Daron motions to the TV, where several clips are shown of Ace Sky hitting his flying spinning heel kick, jumping knee strike, and round kicks to several opponents…including Smythe himself in the UWL…
DARON: Just look at what he can do with his legs?! One of the fastest, most agile strikers in the game - look at the precision with which he executes these attacks!
…Daron motions to the TV again where Ace Sky hits several dropkicks, including a missile dropkick off the top, a dropkick into a moonsault onto another opponent, and frankensteiners from the top rope launching one opponent onto the other…
DARON: Not only that, he is an innovator in the ring, able to take his opponent’s momentum and use it against them. Using some of the most unique blends of styles from all over the world, Ace is a natural choice for a #1 contender for any title…
…One more time it’s thrown to the TV again, where Ace Sky and Nick Danger win the UWL Tag Team Titles, a huge win for both men, as they celebrate the title win, raising the belts high above their heads…
DARON: A champion all over the world - in singles and tag team wrestling. Look at this tag team win with Nick Danger. What a great feel good moment! I’ve had several moments with Nick Danger as well…
…Back to the TV as we show the highlights from Nick Danger’s TV Title defense against Daron Smythe in a hardcore match in Nick Danger’s hometown of Philadelphia, PA. The announcers proclaim this as a hardcore match, Nick Danger’s specialty. Several hardcore moments are shown but in the end, Daron throws a fireball into Nick Danger’s face, then pinning Nick’s shoulders to the mat to win the UWL TV Title…
DARON: Your friend Nick knows me very well. Some people asked me if I’m proud of this moment, resorting to such “lows” to win the championship - but I ask you this, in a match where anything goes, what would you do to come out on top? What would you do when your back is against the wall? The thing is, I’m willing to do what it takes to come out on top. Ace Sky is an incredible athlete. He can do things in the ring no one else, including me, can do. But, at the end of the day, this is the sport of professional wrestling, not gymnastics or acrobatics. To win, you must pin your opponent’s shoulders to the mat or make them submit. You can’t receive a perfect 10 on a triple lindy backflip.
…Daron gestures once more to the television where you see Smythe execute a devastating lariat to the back of the head, followed up by a spinning backfist, then a senton backsplash, crushing his downed opponent…
DARON: Ace, you and I are both athletes at the top of our games, but we have very different ways of accomplishing our goals. Could I do what you do? Absolutely not. But, do you have the grit to grind it out and come back after being away from the sport, the thing that I loved, having it all taken away from me for nearly a decade? I doubt it. I am here in the ECWF, regardless of the show or territory, to fulfill a destiny, to once again be the world’s champion….
…Daron motions again to the television, pictures of Daron capturing the UWL World Title against Anthony Cross, the streamers, the adulation of the fans, but that quickly turns black, as Cory Chevelle wrecks Daron in an iron man match, snatching away the UWL World Title, a championship Daron has been unable to regain…
DARON: Ten years ago, I had a contract offer on the table from the big time, but that offer and the life that it would have provided were snatched from me. I walked away from this game for ten years. I thought I had gone away from it all forever, had gotten it all out of my system. But, there was something deep down inside of me, like the sound of someone tapping their toes in a crowded room, but that sound grew bigger and louder, like a bass drum, like a constant explosion, until I couldn’t ignore it any longer. Some say professional wrestling is the hardest drug to kick, that the real reason those big time stars in the 1980s and 1990s took those hard drugs is they couldn’t find anything that replaced the sensation of being in the ring, controlling a crowd of 20,000+, people chanting your name. The pressure, the thrill of carrying the ball. When I won the UWL World Title, I thought I was ready for it. Some people say “it’s lonely at the top” and while I knew that, I hadn’t considered it - I was just hungry for the chase. I had that taste but I really wasn’t ready to carry the ball like I thought I was - and I fumbled it. I had time to lick my wounds and I was working my way back up the ladder and it was all taken away from me. That’s what I’m here, Ace. My destiny is to be the world’s champion again, but first, I’m coming for that Midwest Championship.
Daron snaps his fingers and the camera fades to black…
